My recruitment career started in Scotland in 1999 where I joined a medium sized recruitment firm, moving to London with the same firm in 2002. In 2005, due to changes in the company philosophy and environment, I left and decided to go at it alone and Marcus Donald People was born!
Our success has been built on our open, consultative and honest approach with our clients. Over 85% of our business is repeat.

I started my career in IT recruitment in the summer of 2001 working for a multinational organisation. After 7 years and reaching a milestone of 30 years old I had an “early midlife crisis” and opted for a complete career change and follow my passion/hobby to become a football coach. After completing various FA badges I started to realise I preferred this as a hobby than a full time position. I came across Marcus Donald and was quickly taken in by the “family feel” set up. I was initially hired to set up the contracts division across the UK and progressed to Director after nearly 10 years at Marcus Donald we have never let a strong work ethic , honesty to all our clients and the “family feel” be tarnished.

After a successful career with Morgan Stanley and half year spent in Asia, I joint Marcus Donald in the spring of 2013. The togetherness shown throughout the business is what I fell in love with all those years ago and that single trait is what keeps me focused and drives business progression.

We have a concentrated growth plan in place which now includes a global presence in New York, a re-energised training/development programme and have introduced recruitment standards to help create a brand that is now a market-leading style of recruitment.

In regards to future goals I am looking into creating a solution which brings both potential candidates and hiring managers closer (without feeling forced).
